I hadn't looked at this module, but I don't think it does what we need. (ie. allow access to resource fork data)

The Mac::Carbon module may be able to do this, but not in a simple way (it just provides access to the old toolbox routines). Besides, a native OSX solution would be preferable because with Apple's track record, they could drop Carbon support at any time.
