I am the author and maintainer of CPAN distribution IO-Capture-Extended. This distribution supersedes IO-Capture-Stdout-Extended. All the functionality of that class is preserved and included in IO-Capture-Extended, but now that functionality is extended to capturing STDERR as well with IO-Capture-Stderr-Extended.
