IDK how best to put this to rest, but I did file this report... I'd like to know, if possible, if the kind of behavior I've outlined in my fix/workaround is something I could see implemented in a new release? I've wracked my tiny little brain and it's the best I could come up with... but I _think_ it addresses a legit concern without too big a change... Cheers!
