on my hpux 11, pa-risc 2.0, using the ansi C compiler, when running "make test", i am seeing most tests fail due to the "update" method causing core dump. does not seem to matter which object is calling the method. thinking it might be limited to just my machine.

have tried combinations of 32-bit vs. 64-bit and 804.027 vs. 804.027_500 and perl 5.8.7 and 5.8.8.

are others with similar configuration able to get most tests to pass? do you see problems with other methods core dumping? ideas that i can try?
