Unable to locate DBD::Oracle and DBI for WINDOWS
Hi, I couldnt find DBI and DBD packages for windows. Can somebody point me to the correct location ? I tried using ppm but its unable to connect to activestate. Do i need a license to install packages using ppm ? Thanks Amit GK

ppm does not need registration, are you behind a proxy ? If so you have to configure ppm to use that proxy.
Once that works you should be able to install DBI (though if I am not mistaken it is included in the Active Perl
The problem is that AFAIK there is no ppm for DBD::Oracle for 5.8.* because of licencing issues. Can you use Perl 5.6.* ?

Thanks!!!. I set the HTTP_proxy and it worked. Yes i can use Perl 5.6. Thanks again.

This is not really relevant to this forum and you can easily find the solution by Googleing a bit.
This is the first hit when searching for ppm proxy on Google.

Hi Gabor, Thank you very much for your help. I was able to configure the proxy and it install the DBI. You are right about searching the net for the ppm-proxy phraze, but regarding the relevancy of the thread in this forum, well, I've just continued the thread on an EXISTING one, meaning it IS relevant...
